Doggie Fancy Dress (primarily judged on the dog's fancy dress but if the owner/handler joins in too so much the better)
PLEASE NOTE; Fancy Dress will be the first class judged in the show
the order of the following classes may be subject to change although 'Judge's Pet', 'Osgathorpe TOP DOG' & 'Best in Show' will be the final 3 classes of the afternoon.

6 'Best' legs (most attractive or hairiest - could be similarity between dog's & owner's legs or the shortest, longest......)
"Treat Resistor " (the most self control in resisting the treat for the longest time. Judge will start with a biscuit. However it may be necessary to introduce other treats or resort to 'temptation tactics' to break a stalemate!)
Best Look-A-Like (this can be dog most like a famous person, their owner, cartoon character or even another animal, an object - ANYTHING... other than claiming a Poodle looks like a Poodle etc.!)
Most Unusual Feature (could be the most pathetic expression, appealing eyes, expressive face, interesting ears, sitting in an unusual way - all refer to dog NOT owner!)
Cutest dog (not necessarily a reflection of beauty but something about the dog which would prompt a big 'Aahhh')
Junior handler (under 8) -
Junior handler (8 - 14) - to show proficiency in walking the dog & giving simple commands
PLEASE NOTE: If there are insufficient entries on the day 'Junior Handler' may need to be combined into 1 class up to 14
Best Pair (matching pair, unlikely 'Twins', oldster & youngster...)
Most Handsome Dog (boy)
Prettiest Bitch
'Champ Sausage Catcher' (dogs will be in the ring one at a time & the handler throws the sausage from a set distance. The 'Champ' will be the dog who catches it without fumbling & with the most style & panache!)
Best Veteran (dog not owner!) over 7 & up to 12 years old
Golden Oldie - as special recognition for dogs more than 12 years old
Best "In Betweenie!" (over 1 year old but less than 7)
Puppy Class (under 12 months)
Best Rescue Dog (dogs that have had a 'false start' in life or hit a rocky patch in their early days deserve a special recognition)
Osgathorpe TOP DOG (this class limited to dogs residing in the 'Parish of Osgathorpe')
Judge's 'Pet' (Dog judge would most like to take home - although she promises she won't!!)
Best
in Show (judged from the winners of all the previous classes)
Booking in from 1:00pm - Judging from 2:30pm

dogs are to be kept on leads at all times throughout the afternoon, please
PLEASE DO NOT bring puppies that have NOT been fully vaccinated

PLEASE do not bring along bitches in heat!!
Rosettes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed in all other classes except Judge's Pet (medal)

our judge for this year was Alison Davidson Alison & her dogs compete in Heelwork to Music & she will judge at Crufts in 2011 She also does obedience training, teaches Agility & demonstrates 'Clicker' work at Crufts We are very grateful she wais able to join our efforts, here in Osgathorpe, on behalf of Rainbows Children's Hospice QUITE SOME TASK JUDGING THAT MANY DOGS!! She did a great job of getting through so many while still giving each entrant their 'moment in the spotlight'!! Thank you, Alison! |
